Animals, art and nature…

Three things that make me tick.

I live in an old house in Birchwood Village, MN. It’s where I can create with my cats roaming, making soup, a quiet place to imagine images and see them come to life in my work.

I have always created art. There has never been a question, “What should I do?” There have been many different chapters for me: painting, screen printing, photography, drawing and ceramics. I love making something from nothing—a string into a sweater, a lump of clay into a vessel of art. My ceramics embody my 3 important words:

NATURE - For some pieces I use Lake Superior stones to form the shape.

ART - I try to look at each creation as a piece of art, not just a cup to drink from or a bowl for cereal.

ANIMALS - Fur and feathers, creatures that fly, crawl, chirp, and meow are what I love to paint and shape most. It gives life to the piece, usually with a bit of quirkiness.

I love what I am doing now and am always looking for the next spark.
